Understanding humanitarian ethics and action from a care ethics perspective.
My research focuses on the intersection of care ethics and its critical insights relationality, responsibility, pragmatism and solidarity, with humanitarian ethics, which builds on humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and indepedence. I am both interested in how host societies receive and (professionally) care for people seeking asylum, as well as in how international organisations provide care and support in (prolonged) emergency situations. Currently, I am researching the challenges health care workers experience in their daily care work in a hospital in Jerusalem.
