Abstract
The theory of resonance has become a new paradigm in social philosophy. However, mostly it portraits entities we resonate with as good in themselves, leaving the lacuna of 'bad resonance' to be explored. The paper uses cars as an example that shows how the intensense resonance many people feel with these machines obstructs the transformation of our societies towards a more equitable, sustainable and healthy society. It builds towards a theory of materialised ideology.
