Abstract
The aim of the volume is to examine the concept of perfection between various disciplines - philosophy, sociology, educational disciplines - in terms of its relevance and analytical weight. The term “perfection” was primarily developed in recent philosophical and sociological discussions, but is also part of the vocabulary of educational science. Though the concept of “perfectibilité” was a pedagogical one: education here means self-perfection, or striving for perfection - which brings a tension between ideal and transgression, formation of self and self-improvement. Another dimension, the aspect of flourishing, brings it closer to ethical concerns.
