Abstract
Dr X (pseudonym adopted to protect the identity of the service
provider and the sperm bank) is the director of a sperm bank that
has been operating since the early 1990s in a large city in India.
What follows here is an abridged version of the author’s interview
with Dr X conducted in December 2001.
