Two of the most renowned German-Jewish thinkers of the 20th century, Loewith and Taubes, shared a topic: political philosophy. Nevertheless, there are hardly any documents of a personal contact. Only if we consider a third person, who knew them both very well: the sociologist Rene Koenig, can we make sense of their peculiar (non)relation. My papers deepdives into intersections of their biographies.
